Description
The VTCT Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is a qualification for those interested in a teaching career in further education or for those who have recently started teaching. This qualification is ideal if you want to enter FE Education, Level 5 & 7 in Aesthetics or to further your career within education.
Entry Requirement:
- Level 4 Certificate in Education OR
- Already within a regulated course centre and needs to upgrade their qualification (such as VTCT, Qualifi, Focus Awards, City & Guilds, TQUK, Pearson and Highfields etc)

- UET3 – Teaching, learning and assessment in education
- UET4 – Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
- UET6 – Theories, principles and models in education and training
- UET11 – Wider professional practice and development in education and training
- UV51238 – Action research
- UV41226 – Inclusive practice
- UET15 – Teaching in a specialist area
Duration:
- Registration with VTCT for the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training
- Enrolment process & then access to your online theory portal & assessor
- 4 x Zoom session with your assessor to discuss the theory (as discussed with your assessor directly)
- 7 x Online Assignments to Complete from Home
- 8 x Observations (Microteachs – can be completed online on Live Zoom with the Assessor in your own setting)
- 100 Hours teaching regulated qualifications required and documented (whether in your own working centre or voluntary)
Assessment:
Observations (microteach) = Yes, you will be required to teach 2 students, for 20-30 minutes on anything you are passionate about, whether its ‘how to make a origami paper cup’ or ‘how to create a powerpoint presentation’. The assessment looks at how you prepare and deliver the information to your ‘learners’. There are 8 practical assessments required to complete the qualification

Your assessor has been teaching and assessing for 13 years and currently holds:
- Level 3 Award in Education
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Assessment
- Level 4 Certificate in Education
- Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance
- Level 4 External Quality Assurance
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
Career Opportunities:
- Self-Employment or Employment as a vocational teacher in the subjects you are already qualified in.
- Able to teach Level 5 upwards
- Able to teach Level 5 & 7 in Aesthetics
Additional Costs:
You will need to purchase your own equipment (e.g. assessor resources) and we also recommend you purchase a text book to support your learning, a recommended reading list is supplied with your training pack.
