Who is this qualification for?

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a qualification designed to enable you to develop practical teaching skills for both Accredited Courses (CPD/ABT) OR  Regulated Courses (VTCT, Focus Awards, City & Guilds or Ofqual Courses up to Level 4) – Level 5, 6 & 7 require a Level 5 DET

Entry Requirements:

There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.

What Will I Learn?

• How to deliver a subject you are already qualified in – for both Regulated courses and accredited courses
• How to assess learners for Regulated courses 
• How to write a Scheme of Work
• How to write a Lesson Plan
• The framework of both accredited courses and regulated courses – for example; IQA’s, EQA’s and Ofqual courses
• Understanding different types of learners and how to ensure that all learners with all abilities are able to understand the subject you are delivering to them

Course Criteria:

Teachers Award

• • Unit UET1 – Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education & training
  • Unit UET7 – Planning to meet the needs of learners in education & training
  • Unit UET8 – Delivering education & training
  • Unit UE10 – Using resources in education & training

Assessors Award:

• • Unit UET9 – Assessing learners in education & training
  • Unit UV30564 – Assess occupational competency in the work environment (assessors award)
  • Unit UV30566 – Assess vocations skills, knowledge & understanding

IQA Award:

• • Unit UV40565 – Understand the principles and practices if internally assuring the quality of assessment
  • Unit UV40575 – Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment

Duration:

• Registration with VTCT for the Level 4 Certificate in Education
• Enrolment process & then access to your online theory portal & assessor
• Choice of Live Zoom Training Sessions (additional cost for Live Zooms) or Learning from Home using the Video Resources
• Videos for Training for Each Question of Each Assignment as Guidance (included in cost)
• Online Assignments to Complete from Home
• 3 x Assessments (Microteach & Assessing combined – can be completed online on Zoom)
• 1 x IQA Assessments (can be completed in our centre or within your own centre)

Assessments:

There must be evidence of you monitoring a minimum of 4 assessments, each with a minimum of two learners of their own, through components of a qualification in your own workplace

Career Opportunities:

Self-Employment or Employment as a vocational Teacher, Assessor or IQA in the subjects you are qualified in within Regulated Qualifications or Accredited Qualifications

Payments:

Choice of either:

• Payment in Full
• Deposit of £200 & 3 x Monthly Direct Debit Payments of: £325

Additional Costs:

You will need to purchase your own equipment (e.g. laptop to type up your assignment questions) and we also recommend you purchase a text book to support your learning, a recommended reading list is supplied with your training pack.
